Memory Care Unit

The Husby Unit for Special Care was the first of it's kind in the area. Named after Gertrude Husby, who was instrumental in establishing the Pioneer Memorial Care Center as a center of excellence for providing long-term health care to senior citizens and those with diverse needs from our region.

• Secure, home-like 17 bed memory care unit
  
• Dementia, Alzheimer’s, or related type diagnosis
  
• Staff trained in Alzheimer’s and dementia care
  
• Psychiatric services
  
• Work around resident’s schedule
  
• Pet therapy is offered to residents
  
• Continence management
  
• Personal hygiene and grooming 
  
• Medication management 
  
• Assistance with eating 
  
• Assistance with bathing
  
• Dressing and clothes selection
  
• Socialization and activities designed specifically for dementia  or Alzheimer's residents
  
• Mobility and transferring
  
• Monitoring of safety
